CHINA.
In systems terms, when risk and fragility reach unstable levels in closely linked systems, there is no control over the supernova-like implosion of the system.
Xi has observed the soaring power of Big Tech, moral hazard financiers and crypto-currencies and concluded that the state must act decisively to crush these rivals, whatever the cost.
This separates China from the US state, which is unable to impose sacrifices, limits or costs on the parasitic elite that dominates its economy and political order.
Xi saw the danger that Big Tech and the financiers could buy all the influence they needed from the corrupt CCP and state officials, and realised that this was the crucial moment in history: either crush Big Tech and the financiers/speculators, or risk losing control to their interests.
Control is something the CCP and Xi want to retain, whatever the cost to the nouveau riche, the parasitic elites, the aspiring middle class and even the Party regulars who have supped too often and too gloriously at the trough of corruption/moral hazard.
Losses will be incurred and sacrifices imposed on those who do not understand the Chinese state will no longer absorb the losses of speculative excesses.
